Rod McFarlane, B.Sc., B.Arch., M.A.I.B.C. was educated at the University of British Columbia with degrees in Science (1973) and Architecture (1978) including studies abroad in Japan.

From 1982 - 84 he served as Vice Chairman of Delta's Heritage Advisory Committee.

As a member of the Architectural Institute of B.C. he has been appointed to Advisory Design Panels in Richmond, White Rock and Delta.

With an interest in design and the community, his involvement in various municipal committees and forums continues. He resides in Delta, B.C. and has participated in many community and Council appointed activities including workshops for: Rural Land Use Study, Economic Development Strategy Plan, Heritage Management Strategy, drafting of Zoning Bylaws for unique neighourhoods, and attendance at a B.C. Housing Management Commission seminar on post earthquake evaluation of buildings, to name a few.

Recently he's been active in representing neighbourhood environmental interests on the Beach Grove Lagoon & Spit Steering Committee which guided a multi-disciplinary Environmental & Engineering Study.

Other activities include raising a family, continuing education in neighbourhood planning & heritage conservation, advanced building science and upgrading computer / internet functions for this firm.
