About the Principal - Rod McFarlane Architect Inc.

Rod McFarlane, B. Sc., B. Arch., M.A.I.B.C. was educated at the University of British Columbia with degrees in Science (1973) and Architecture (1978) including studies abroad in Japan.

With an interest in design and the community his involvement in various municipal committees and forums continues. As a member of the Architectural Institute of B.C. he has been appointed to Advisory Design Panels in various municipalities and has served on Delta's Heritage Advisory Commission.

He resides in Delta, B.C. and has participated in many community activities and Council directed initiatives involving neighbourhood planning, bylaw reviews and land use policies. He also attends seminars, workshops and public meetings and participates in continuing education related to his practice.

He maintains an interest in the unique ecology of Boundary Bay and has been a committee member guiding a multi-disciplinary environmental & engineering study of the Beach Grove lagoon.

With a goal towards finding growth & balance in life, some of his other interests include landscaping, travel and underwater photography. Previous adventures to the South Pacific beckon return visits, especially to coral reefs and atolls. .
